DESCRIPTION OF THE WOOD
Heavy wood with a reddish brown hear-twood that stands out, which tends to become darker over time. The perfume is characteristic in its natural state. It has a fine texture with a grain that's often cros sed and wavy.

Main uses
The desthetic properties associated with the colour and stripe effect achieved on radial surfaces favour the use of this wood in visible parts of furniture, also as a replacement for the Mahogany wood from Central America. It is often used in joinery, to make luxury flooring and doors and windows, parts of musical instru ments, furniture and covers for luxury boats.

Semi-heavy wood with pink or whitish sapwood, certainly different to the light red heartwood in its natural state that changes to crimson or dark red with ageing. A high-quality wood due to its appearance, grain that is often crossed or wavy, which leads to the creation of surfaces that have clear moireing or striped effects. It has a medium texture.

Main uses
The easy workability and the striped effect that can be achieved by radial surfaces causes this wood to be used to make fine joinery, furniture, indoor coverings and furnishings for luxury boats, doars and windows, sculptures, parts of musical Instruments, turnery and luxury boxes. It is often used to make high-quality looking frames.
